The Sharifa-Tofiz Foundation is a nonprofit organization rooted in the belief that lasting change begins with equal access to opportunity. Founded in 2024 and operated in Bangladesh, the organization is named in honor of Sharifa and Tofiz, whose lives embodied generosity, wisdom, and a deep commitment to the power of education. Their legacy continues to inspire our work today.

We serve communities in rural Bangladesh that are often left behind—where talented students struggle to stay in school, where women face barriers to financial independence, and where families lack access to the most basic resources. Through education, mentorship, skill-building, and direct support, we work to bridge these gaps and unlock human potential.

Our Mission & Vision

Many bright students, women, and families in rural Bangladesh lack access to education, financial independence, and basic resources. Our goal is to bridge this gap by providing scholarships, mentorship, vocational training, and financial aid to empower communities. We want a rural Bangladesh where every child has access to quality education, every woman has the opportunity to thrive, and every family can build a secure and sustainable future.We develop and implement grassroots programs that center local voices, needs, and aspirations. Our work currently focuses on three core pillars:

1. Education Support

We believe that education is the foundation of opportunity. Our Scholarship Project provides academic support to high-achieving, low-income students—covering tuition, materials, and mentorship. We also aim to support schools with resources that improve the learning environment.

2. Women’s Empowerment

In many rural communities, women are underrepresented in the workforce and under-resourced in life. We offer vocational training, educational workshops, and micro-support funding to help women build sustainable, independent lives.

3. Family & Community Support

From school supplies to emergency aid, we provide critical assistance to families facing financial hardship. Long term, we aim to develop programs focused on sustainable livelihoods, public health, and localized community infrastructure.
